My husband started these Hubs, but has since passed on.  Since we were married for 30 years, we enjoyed many of the same things, so with pride, I will carry on his work.  

We enjoy writing on gardening topics like tomato growing tips and hanging tomatoes for those without the space for a garden.  We spend a great deal of time gardening, in spite of the fact that Texas can be a challenging place to garden. We like to collect garden gadgets of all sorts, like upside down tomato planters, and raised bed garden kits.  You will find reviews about things like compost tumblers, portable fire pits, and other gardening tools that we use in our yard.

Related to gardening and backyard living, we have some bird feeders in the back yard, and enjoy trying to attract birds to them. We also have tested out some squirrel proof bird feeders with all the uninvited guests that show up at the suet bird feeders, bird baths, and other birding items we've got hanging around the yard. With the current state of the economy, we spend more time in the yard as it is a low cost way to enjoy ourselves and that has resulted in some articles on birding and gardening.

Since I am now the man and woman of the house, spending time looking for home improvement tips can save a little money while adding some personal touches to the house and yard like building in improvements from bookcase plans to a storage shed.      

The great thing about Hubpages is that it lets you write articles about whatever you like, so we have also writen about affiliate programs like where to buy stuff online and make some money too!

I love to travel, enjoy (and need) the beach, love to read and am a converted believer in parochial schools like Fort Worth Catholic Schools.
